Our healthcare system is broken. Polaris asks why — and starts the movement to rebuild it.
Polaris is a nonprofit — producing a six-episode investigative documentary on American healthcare to understand why it is so broken — and then provides the platform for us to actually rebuild it.
Why this mattersThe Problem
We spend more than any nation on earth — and rank dead last.
America's healthcare system is the most expensive in human history and among the least effective in the developed world. Most of us sense something is deeply wrong. Almost none of us were ever told why.
We've debated the symptoms for decades. Polaris goes after the cause.
Why Good Systems Fail
The problem isn't the people. It's how we build.
Almost everyone inside healthcare came to it from a genuine calling. The failure isn't a failure of good people — it's a failure of the organizations they work inside: built for extraction, held together by incentives that have little to do with care.
Good ideas don't become new systems because the way we build them is broken at the foundation. Healthcare is simply the most urgent, most visible proof. Fix how we build, and we can rebuild anything.
About Polaris
Polaris is a nonprofit tech company providing the platform for a new way to organize and build.
Polaris isn't a healthcare company. We provide the thing that makes new systems possible — coordination infrastructure that frees people to build together, without surrendering to the broken organizational models that capture them and their purpose.
Our purpose is simple: help people find and fulfill their purpose, and make sure what they build serves everyone. We are starting with healthcare because it's the hardest, most urgent system there is. For centuries, the North Star has guided countless ships across open ocean without ever taking the wheel. That is the power Polaris is built to be — true north that lets everyone find their own way, and never lose it.
The Series
Six episodes. One honest question.
Polaris goes inside America's healthcare system — through the employers who fund it, the providers who carry it, the patients who navigate it, and the institutions that shape it — to reveal how it became what it is, and to launch a movement to build the future of healthcare.
The Employer Lens
How work became the gateway to healthcare, and what that means for 165 million people.
The Provider Crisis
Caring for people inside a system that no longer cares for its caregivers.
The Patient Experience
Navigating illness, cost, and confusion — one human moment at a time.
Technology
Promise, power, and the consequences of innovation that outpaces its purpose.
The Big Business of Care
Incentives, profit, and the structural power that shapes outcomes.
Where Do We Go From Here
Reimagining health, care, and community — and building it in the open.
Investigative, human, and unflinching — blending original animation with raw, honest interviews. Integrity, safety, curiosity, and connection guide every frame.
The Movement
Polaris isn't just producing a film. The film is how this begins.
Polaris is built to do what no campaign or product launch can: help millions finally understand why the system fails, and call forward the people ready to rebuild it.
The Builders
The clinicians, technologists, operators, and organizers who already know, deep down, that they're here to build something better. The docu-series shows them they're not alone.
The Funders
The philanthropists, investors, and employers ready to stop paying into a broken system and start resourcing what's next.
Every dollar the docu-series raises flows into the nonprofit Polaris — which funds the solutions the series proves are possible. Support the film, and you fund the future it points to.
Support Polaris
Be the reason the movement begins.
Polaris needs partners with the conviction to fund something new — donors and sponsors who want their resources to support solutions and not the problems. A gift today brings the series to life that calls forward the builders and funders, and seeds every solution that follows.
Considering a major gift or sponsorship? We offer producer credits on the film and would love to talk — email us.
Polaris, Inc. is a Colorado nonprofit corporation. We are currently completing our fiscal sponsorship and 501(c)(3) recognition; until that is in place, contributions are not yet tax-deductible.
